Thank you for your inquiry about the Denali Dome Home Bed and Breakfast, 12 miles north of Denali National Park. We would certainly like to have you as guests for the 2003 season.We live in Healy, the closest town north of Denali National Park. We live here year-round, and we have lived in Alaska for 20 years. We enjoy sharing our home and knowledge about the park and the area.You are smart to make your plans now. Denali National Park and the surrounding areas are busy most of the summer, especially late June through mid-September. Good accommodations, government bus tickets and DPR’s private tour tickets go fast during that busy part of the season.We offer a clean, safe, and spacious geodesic home with sauna in one guest room, another guest room has a jacuzzi, a living room with baby grand piano and gigantic windows, a non-smoking environment, a dining room, a huge family room with fireplace, wrap-around decks, paved off-street parking, and five wooden acres with landscaped lawns. All our seven private bedrooms have private baths.We offer a good location to easily reach Denali National Park. We are just one turn and 1/2 mile from the George Parks Highway which is the road connecting Anchorage and Fairbanks. It is also the road directly in front of the Park’s entrance. We offer an excellent past record of local memberships and offices. We have been a member of good standing of the Greater Healy/Denali chamber of Commerce since its beginning. We belong to the Fairbanks Association of B&B owners (FABB), Anchorage Convention and Visitors’ Bureau (ACVB) and the Alaska State Association of B&B owners (BBAA). In addition we belong to the Alaska Tourism Industry Association (ATIA) We’re the longest running, year-round bed and breakfast in the Denali area and hold a prestigious 3-diamond rating from AAA. We are serious about bringing you a professional product.We offer a full, cooked-to-order breakfast served in the dinning room from 7:30-9:00 a.m. It consists of muffins croissants, toast/breads, pancakes, french toast, eggs served your way, sausages, cereals, fruit plate, juices, milk, assorted teas, coffees, ciders, juices, and hot chocolates. A huge continental breakfast is provided for those who want breakfast at another time. Coffees and teas, milk and juices and refreshments are available throughout the day.We offer economical prices for accommodations which include a full breakfast. We have seven private rooms with private baths in our 7, 200 + square ft. geodesic home. Bedroom with private baths and double occupancy are $115.00 +$8.50 bed tax. These prices are set from Labor Day Weekend to September 8, 2002. Additional adult guests are charged $25. Children under 5 stay free. Ask us about discounts for AAA, AARP members, or off-season stays.Early reservations with at least a two-night stay are suggested. Denali is a two-hour drive from Fairbanks and a five hour drive from Anchorage. Guests should allow 1/2 hours traveling, parking and queing-up time before their government shuttle ride into the Park.We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Travelers’ checks, personal checks and US money. Credit card information or one night’s deposit is due at the tine of reservation to guarantee your reservation. Cancellation charge is $25. A refund is available with a 14 -day notice of cancellation prior to arrival date.We offer comfort. Our bedrooms have queen-sized beds; many have a queen and twins. Two rooms have king beds. We believe in the saying, “How can our guests enjoy a good view of Mt. McKinley (Denali), if they don’t have a good night’s sleep.” We have quality mattresses in our clean and pleasant bedrooms. In addition for you we have TV/VCR’s, hair dryers, initialed towels, special soaps, creams, robes, phones, and radio alarm clocks. We also have a fax/e-mailing area for communications and business, video library, extensive book library including Alaskan books and magazines and Alaskan art and trophies.And finally we offer knowledge and advice of the area and true Alaskan hospitality. We enjoy arranging trips and activities, many of which are free or economical with the park interpretive service. We are well-versed through our personal experiences about the Park. We know about the bus rides into the Park, camping, dog-team demonstrations, rangers’ talks and the trails. There are federal shuttles into the Park for the 2003 season from May 24 to Sept. 12, 2003 costing between $11.50 to $30 depending on age and duration of trip. We suggest either to trip to Eielson for $23 for 8 hours or the trip to Wonder Lake for $30 for 11 hours for a single, adult ticket. In addition there is a $5 individual fee or $10 family fee Denali National Park pass. These tickets are the best value and the best trip we have found.
