Seascape
675 South Sierra Ave #47
Solana Beach, CA 92075
This is a very cute 2 bedroom + loft, 1.5 bath condo on the beach in Solana Beach, CA. It has a very comfortable and warm cabin feel to it, probably because it’s filled with cedar, pine and teak. There are cedar panels on the walls throughout, and pine and teak furnishings imported from Mexico and Asia. Everything is in very good condition, top to bottom, no cheap things here… Come enjoy the beach without leaving the amenities of home.
Interior Specifics:
Approx 1,500 square feet
The first thing you’ll notice as you walk in the front door is the warmth of the wood and the nice contrast of whitish/tan Mexican tile floors. The living room has two full size leather sofas, teak coffee table, and pine entertainment center which has a 38-inch HDTV, DVD player, and a 5 disc CD player. There are surf racks to hold your boards, if that’s your thing. Moving into the dining area, there is a teak kitchen table, with seating for 8, and a large console/work station. We provide phone, fax, and high-speed wireless Internet if you need to do some work, or just need to stay in touch. There are also tasteful, pictures and household goods to give it a nice home feel. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need for cooking, eating or entertaining. The fridge, dishwasher, oven/range, and washer/dryer are all new, (within the last few years). The deck has an outdoor table and benches and a very nice gas grill, with all the bbq gear. The downstairs bath has a toilet and sink area.
Moving upstairs you step onto newly installed oak laminate floors, and starting with the master bedroom you have a king size pine sleigh bed with nice linens and down comforter. It is beautifully decorated with nightstands, dresser and chair imported from Bali. There is and upstairs deck with the view from the bed looking out through the double sliders and into the pine trees. The second bedroom is set up very nicely with a futon, double fold out sofa, TV and DVD, and some work out equipment and mats, if you’re inclined to get in a work out. This room has been set up so that guests have the flexibility of having it serve as a second bedroom or sort of a second living room area. For example if you were a family with kids, this would be a great area for them to hang out and watch their program, while you take over the downstairs. Above this bedroom is a good size loft with a queen bed, which is another reason we chose to not put a normal bedroom setup down below. So two couples can also share this condo with plenty of space and privacy. The master bath (in between the bedrooms) is fully stocked, and also has the cedar walls, which give a sort of spa feel. We provide all linens and towels, and have the place expertly cleaned before and after all guests. We also like to pay for cleaning, to us; there is nothing tackier than charging a person to clean, that is not your responsibility. A few other miscellaneous notes on the interior… There is wall heating in all rooms (if you need it), and a couple of fans, which is plenty in the summer. There is newly installed recessed lighting throughout. We do have things we can provide for you, such as bikes, surfboards, tennis rackets, and other sports item, but you need to ask in advance, and a deposit or rental fee may be required, cause things break… We live here part time so some cabinets and closets are locked; I apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you don’t mind.
Exterior/Complex Specs
Seascape is a beautiful complex, it’s not the most fancy one on the block, but it has character. They are dark wood, shingled; two story units with no one above or below you. There are 3 condos per cluster and they are well spread out throughout complex, which has a total of about 50 units. The landscaping is great, with huge pine trees, and plenty of grass and flowers. There is a pool area, which is heated year round, and a Jacuzzi, and Sauna. Our unit is in a quiet area on the side of the complex, about half way between the street and the beach. So you don’t really hear any noise from the street or pool, or people walking in the complex. The only noise you’ll hear is the landscapers occasionally mowing the grass. There is private beach access to “Cherry Hill Beach”, that’s what the locals call it; all you do is walk through the complex, down the stairs and your there. This is one of the nicest beaches in San Diego, sandstone bluffs, and sand/cobblestone beach. The surf can be good and is generally uncrowded because you can’t just drive up to this beach. There is plenty of parking out front of the complex and access is easy to the condo
Activities/Surrounding Areas
Within walking distance of the condo you have Dog Beach (if you have a dog) this is where all the dogs go to run around and play. Del Mar Horse Racing Track is a short walk and the races go through the months of July-Sept. The Cedros Design District is a unique shopping area featuring artistic shops filled with imports from around the world. There are also a number of restaurants and other small businesses within walking distance. Of course San Diego has a lot of major attractions including Sea World, The San Diego Zoo, Lego Land, Balboa Park, Downtown, Old Town, and The Wild Animal Park just to name a few. Solana Beach is centrally located in San Diego so it’s a good launching point to visit all these places. A leisurely drive or bike ride up or down the coast to towns such as Del Mar, La Jolla or Cardiff, and Encinitas is another great way to spend the day.
Final Note
