Welcome to the Whistle Stop Bed and Breakfast! We invite you to experience western mountain life in the former logging town of Fraser, immediately adjacent to Winter Park, from our bright contemporary home...Oh yes there are great summmer and winter sports here!
We accommodate up to six guests in our three guest rooms; each with a queen size bed and private bathroom. All guest rooms are on different levels for maximum privacy. Our home is designed for comfortable living; enjoy its sun room, and spacious living area with broad views of the Continental Divide and Byers Peak.
Snuggle by the warmth and flame of the wood stove. At the end of the day, ease your tired muscles in our rejuvenating hot tub. Train buffs have a great vantage point from our home which is within one block of the Winter Park/Fraser Amtrak station.
Shopping and dining are within walking distance.
After a delicious, complete gourmet or country style breakfast,(each morning a different breakfast chosen by the hosts from a list of over 35 breakfasts) with standard offerings of your choice of beverage, fruit juice, fresh fruit, a variety of egg dishes, either toasted homemade bread, biscuits, tortillias, muffins, waffles or pancakes, a meat selection and hash-browned potatoes or grits (we travel the world with our menu), you may wish to explore all the Winter Park/Fraser Valley has to offer.
There's a reason why Winter Park Ski Resort is Colorado's Favorite. It's simple...with average snowfalls of 370 inches ( over 30 ft. ), Winter Park gets more snowfall than any major ski resort in Colorado!
Winter Park Resort consists of three interconnected mountains: Winter Park, Vasquez Ridge and Mary Jane. For advanced and extreme skiers, there are Parsenn Bowl and the Vasquez Cirque above Mary Jane. For snow boarders, there are three terrain parks in addition to the above.
The free shuttle bus makes regular stops, day and night, one block from our home and takes you to stops in Fraser, Winter Park and the Winter Park Ski Resort ( just 12 minutes to the resort), so you do not need a car. You could take the scenic Amtrak train from Denver or San Francisco to within one block of our home.
Cross country ski or snow shoe in the national forest on trails just a few blocks from our home, on the groomed trails at either Devil's Thumb Cross County Ski center or the lighted trails at Snow Mountain Ranch, the YMCA of the Rockies.
You may prefer to go on a dog sled ride, a snow scoot ride, or to have big fun on the snow tubing hill or on a snowmobile tour. Enjoy a late afternoon cup of hot tea, cocoa, or coffee and our delicious homemade cookies, or hot cup of soup de jour, before discovering on of the many wonderful culinary choices at fine restaurants in Fraser and Winter Park. Among these choices are several dinner sleigh rides. After dining, entertain yourselves with a board game, or with a romantic video, or maybe just chatting with other guests from around the world.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing our knowledge of the area with you as your home hosts!
