The village of Asomatos is surrounded by citrus plantations and situated in a peaceful back-water set in the Akrotiri peninsula, about five miles west of the city of Limassol and three miles north of RAF Akrotiri base. Limassol is a lively city full of restaurants, bars, clubs and active nightlife. Further west of Asomatos one can enjoy a more tranquil time in the popular village of Pissouri, and beyond Paphos those interested in history may care to explore The Tombs of the Kings. En route to Paphos, be sure to stop off at Aphrodite’s Rock! Just 10 minutes from Asomatos, Lady's Mile and Curium beaches provides safe bathing in the clear waters of the Mediterranean. Popular local leisure pursuits include diving, golf, horse riding, hang gliding, parascending and jet skiing!

Your hosts’ extensive knowledge of the local tavernas, bars and restaurants is always at your disposal and we can also recommend a wide variety of inland excursions and beach locations, which you will really enjoy.

The emphasis of the Touchdown experience is hospitality in a relaxing, homely setting where you are welcome to share our domestic facilities. Our guest accommodation consists of two air-conditioned bedrooms, - one offering a king-sized bed and the other a pair of bunk beds, suitable for children or two friends sharing.

Breakfast is served between 07.00 and 09.30.During the day, guests are welcome to use our plunge pool and relax and sunbathe on the patio, but please note that if your party includes children you must remain responsible for their safety at all times.

Barbecues are a favourite feature of our lifestyle and for a small additional charge you are welcome to join us in our al fresco dining. Our premises are single-story and enjoy the benefit of a level approach – ideal for those who would otherwise struggle with stairs and/or lifts and, of course, those who may be a little wobbly after sampling the local alcoholic delights!

Visitors should be aware that we are animal lovers and have two well-behaved friendly little Cocker Spaniels, a dear little three-legged puppy and a cuddly cat – so our facilities may not suit those who are allergic to animals. Also, we do not permit smoking within the house itself, although you may indulge in the garden if you wish

The activities indicated above are all available in Cyprus. However we also offer in-house'excursions to the Troodos mountains to see the Kykkos Monastery and -The Touchdown Akamas Peninsula Jeep Safari Excursion!A day out with a difference! Travel with Touchdown in a group of up to four passengers from Asomatos to the Akamas peninsula, for an adventurous day-out! The journey, via Paphos and Polis, is broken for a lunch-stop in the popular coastal resort of Latchi, where you will find a wide choice of Tavernas and fish restaurants with mouth-watering menus! After lunch, we climb the Akamas, passing through the quaint village of Neo Chorio, before the off-road section of the journey begins! As we descend towards the western coast of the island of Cyprus the views are breathtaking, if a little scary, from the unmade road, which winds down to sea level via a number of tortuous hair-pin bends! Once back on the coastal track, we reach the beautiful Lara Bay, where the leather-back turtles come ashore to lay their precious eggs. After a few miles more of rough terrain driving, we approach Coral Bay, west of Paphos, and those who haven’t yet been sufficiently frightened by the drive can visit the reptile exhibition, where many species of snake can be seen and (gulp!-) handled! In the same vicinity, the Tombs of the Kings are well worth seeing, before we return to Asomatos via Paphos on (thankfully) properly surfaced roads! Cost: £40 – (can be split between anything up to four passengers).
