If extreme privacy and an untamed waterfront environment teeming with wildlife appeals to you, then you have come to the right place.
This is not the noisy, packed-to-capacity, tourist-filled, artificial, 'Theme Park' Florida.
This is the real thing...
Picture the early morning entertainment while eating your breakfast at the rustic oak table on the screened-in back porch; you are centered on the lot's 300 feet of waterfront. Because the canal was dug almost 40 years ago with little development in the area, the look and feel is not so much that of an artificial canal, but more like a natural creek. There are no other houses visible, only the palm, oak, and cedar trees, the dock, boathouse, and fish cleaning station.
Birds singing, frogs grunting, bugs buzzing, and fish splashing. The sounds of nature surround you and are only interrupted by the occasional weekend air-boater cruising the nearby lake. Small lizards are scurrying up and down the trees and plants near the porch. Squirrels are creating a ruckus in the dry palm fronds as they jump from one palm tree to another on the other side of the canal. The cardinals are feeding at the birdfeeder, there is a blue heron hunting for breakfast out on the dock, and there are ospreys circling overhead waiting for an unlucky bream, speckled perch, or largemouth bass to come near the surface.
You might see one of the great horned owls hanging out in the trees or consider yourself fortunate if you catch a glimpse of a bald eagle gliding over at tree-top level. A half dozen or more turtles are sunning themselves on the opposite bank. If you are lucky, you might get to see an otter playing in the water, but probably not if there is a 'gator hanging around.
'Possum, raccoons, armadillos, wild hog, deer, wild turkeys, black bear, manatees, etc., etc... Pretty much any animal Florida's got to offer has been spotted around here at one time or another.
We never seem to tire of the going's on in the backyard, and we bet you will not either.
NOTE: Although there are only two bedrooms and one bath available for use, this is a large, roomy house with approximately 2600 square feet under roof to wander around in.
