Mount Dora and the greater Lake County area offer a diverse selection of activities for the active outdoor enthusiast and more sedentary participants alike. Lake County is known for its rolling hills and valleys—reminiscent of parts of New England. In fact, Mount Dora and some of its architecture is modeled after that found in and around Cape Cod, Mass.

Activities and places of interest within walking distance of “Condo-in-the-Trees” include the antique district with its variety of shops, sidewalk cafes, bakery and dining establishments, the Mount Dora Library, Palm Island Park Nature Sanctuary and boardwalk, Mount Dora Community Pool and Tennis Complex, the Icehouse Theatre, historic Lakeside Inn, Mount Dora Center for the Arts, and Lake Dora—with its boating and water sports activity offerings. There are 4 community theatre organizations within the county.

There are 18 golf courses in the county, including P.B. Dye and Joe Lee designed links. Mount Dora Golf Club is open to the public and just a few minutes away from the condo.

Equestrian enthusiasts will enjoy a variety of public and privately owned and operated riding trails and training centers. Water skiing enthusiasts will find in Lake County schools for learning and perfecting their skiing technique and countless lakes upon which to practice.

A variety of nature/conservation centers exist within Lake County, most if not all are free, open to the public and offer glimpses of rare and exotic wildlife and migratory birds including deer, bear, coyotes, panther, bobcat, osprey, bald eagles and gopher tortoise. Blue Spring State Park with its scuba, canoeing and manatee watching is a very popular winter attraction. The Ocala National Forest is but a half hours drive from the condo and boasts numerous freshwater springs for swimming, diving fishing and canoeing.

Mount Dora is known for its annual festivals including the Mount Dora Festival of the Arts held in February, and the Spring Arts and Crafts festival. The annual bicycle festival and the antique/exotic car festival draw participants from around the country. The Antique Boat Show held in March and the Sailing Regatta held in April are attractions not to be missed.

The central location of Mount Dora makes it an easy 30-minute ride to either the famous Lakeridge Winery or the Yalaha German Bakery--especially delightful. Both of these establishments hold weekly musical entertainment for patrons.

Other places of interest within an easy car ride include Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando, Sea World Adventure Park and MGM Studios. The Orlando International Airport is approximately a 50-minute ride away. Closer by is the art district of Winter Park, FL (home to Rollins College, the Charles Hosmer and Cornell Museums of art) which features a world-famous annual art festival and lush, tree-lined streets with numerous antique shops and art galleries including the largest collection of Charles Louis Comfort Tiffany’s work in the world--the Morse Museum of Art, all this a mere 25 minutes from Mt. Dora.

The Orlando T.D. Waterhouse Center offers Broadway show touring companies as well as other world class stage spectaculars.

Day trips to the Atlantic Coast beaches and cities such as St. Augustine (oldest city in the U.S.) and Tampa/St. Petersburg on the Gulf Coast (home of the Salvador Dali Museum) are easily accomplished. Miami is approximately 5 hours ride by car and Tallahassee is 4 hours away.

We are within an hour and a half drive from major educational centers such as the University of Florida at Gainesville and the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Condo-in-the-Trees is an airy, light-filled beautifully remodeled 1-story walk-up located in a small development in Mount Dora, Florida. This 1,000 square foot “sanctuary” comes complete with heirloom antebellum bedroom set in the guest suite, with coordinating period art prints, and in the Master Suite a pillow-top mattress bed is included in the contemporary designed master suite. Master suite contains Art-Deco period dresser with Mirror and matching cedar-lined armoire/vanity chest combo. Collectible Salvador Dali prints adorn the walls.

Mirrored door linen closet contains luxury Fieldcrest linens for both bedrooms and baths.

Dining/great room contains a circular table for four with full china, silverware and stemware service; the living area of the great room contains a Queen-sized Jennifer convertible sofa, and Lazy-boy recliners. 27” television w/cable and stereo available for your viewing and listening pleasure as well as Levelor “Top-down-Bottom-Up” light-emitting window treatments. Patio contains a chaise lounge and chair. High-speed Internet available for a fee. Trash is stored in subsurface containers directly beneath the condo and collected twice weekly. Reserved covered parking area directly beneath the condo. Guest parking is available at no additional fee.

The bathroom is finished in Polo Ralph Lauren custom-coordinated decorating colors.
