Featured Bed and Breakfast in Macomb, Illinois
Inselhaus is one of Macomb's finest examples of houses built at the turn of the century. It was built by Frank Blount in 1901. The original pocket doors are still used in the entry way, the formal parlor and the tea room. The spacious meeting rooms feature antique fireplaces with cast bronze covers. A beautiful oak staircase takes the visitors to the second floor guest rooms.
Karl and Dorothee bought the house in October of 2003 with the interest of welcoming visitors to the area and preserving a piece of Macomb's history. Dorothee operated a Bed & Breakfast in Germany on the island Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea. Dorothee loves to make her guests feel welcome at Inselhaus
