Sonora Gardens is a eight minute drive from downtown Nauvoo. It is six miles south East of Nauvoo on a working grain farm. We only take one party at a time. All that you see on our web site is open for the guests use. Guests will step back in time when they pull into our drive way and look at our 1912 farm house that was built by our great grandparents. Guests will find a private entrance on a wonderful old fashion front porch with plenty of places to sit or relax in the hammock. Guests will find fresh flowers in every room along with homemade baked goods waiting for them every afternoon. In the living area guests will find plenty of reading material, VCR, DVD and TV. Movies are provided. PG-13 and below. In the dining area guests will find a microwave and refrigderator along with counter top. Plenty of room to move around and enjoy a meal or carry out pizza. Greta the hostess and owner will meet guests needs in making the stay a memorable one. Guests may select from a light breakfast or a full homemade breakfast. In the warm months you will find flower gardens and a large lush yard. Sonora Gardens is located on a quiet country road for taking walks or riding bikes. We are just five minutes from the mighty mississippi and the sunsets are very pretty. If you have a little farmer in you, you may want to take a tractor ride before you leave! We grow corn and beans and on occasion wheat. Greta is a life long member of the community of Nauvoo and would love to share her surroundings with others.
