Villa Sukmawati is a two story home designed with traditional Balinese architectural elements, set in half an acre of well established tropical garden with a 10 x 7 meter swimming pool. It is located in Andong, two kilometres from the centre of Ubud, the cultural heart of old Bali. Ubud is renowned as a centre for art, sculpture, music and dance, and has a rich Balinese Hindu religious ceremony calendar. The town of Ubud has a wide range of modern facilities available for the visitor, but still retains its old Bali rural atmosphere. It is surrounded by rice fields and quaint villages where the pace of life remains very much as it always has been: slow and peaceful.Layout of the Villa On the ground floor the villa has a modern kitchen, breakfast bar and eating area, two bedrooms, a large bathroom and separate toilet. One bedroom has a queen sized bed, the other two single beds. All rooms have ceiling fans. A veranda facing out to the east, looking out over the garden and some rice fields, also provides a pleasant sitting area, and boasts a huge teak divan. Upstairs via a spiral stair case is a 5 x 5 meter studio bedroom, with a high vaulted roof. This room is decorated in traditional kamasan style and has a king sized bed, desk and lounge suite.Surrounding the upstairs studio bedroom is a wide veranda, with extensive views. To the north east is Bali's sacred mountain, Mount Agung. To the east you can watch the sun rise over rice fields and a pocket of ravine rainforest. To the west you can watch the sun set golden red over the ridges that form the district of Ubud and its surrounding villages
