Six miles out to sea, accesible only by mail boat, the Inn at Isle au Haut is ruggedly seated on the island's eastern shore, boasting commanding views of Acadia National Park's Cadillac Mountain and the surrounding islands. Relax on the front porch in cozy white wicker chairs or in old adirondacks by the ocean's edge - perfect vantage points for contemplating a bygone era of peg-legged sea captains and sailing ships while watching local lobstermen haul their pots.
The inn is located on the island's quiet east side, yet just a bike ride away from the bustle of the town landing, and the entrance to the Isle au Haut sector of Acadia National Park. Guests arrive on the late boat, and are met at the town landing for a 2 mile ride to the inn. After settling into your room, join other guests in the parlor for appetizers, followed by a sumptuous dinner in the Ward Room. Retire to your room to be lulled to sleep by the surf song and awaken to a gourmet breakfast. Plan to spend a leisurely day biking to Long Pond for a dip, picnicing at Thunder Gulch, or just relaxing with a good book by the shore.
Our four guest rooms are light and cheerful, simply furnished with iron beds, antique oak and colorful quilts. The three rooms on the second floor share a full bath.

Reservations must be made in advance. A $100 deposit is required, payable by check or money order. We do NOT accept credit cards. Your reservation will be confirmed upon receipt of deposit.
Mail boat fare is $16 per person each way, subject to change. Secure parking is available at the Isle au Haut Boat Company Dock in Stonington for $9 per day, subject to change.
Plan to bring sturdy shoes for negotiating rugged terrain and sweatshirts or jacketss for cool island evenings.
Inn bicycles are available for free of charge for guest use.
All meals are provided.
There is no smoking at the Inn at Isle au Haut.
We cannot accomodate pets.
Children over 12 are welcome.
There is an additional charge for a child or extra person in a room.
