Welcome to Central House Inn, a bed and breakfast on Mount Desert Island Maine. We are centrally located in Southwest Harbor on the Clark Point road in a 1887 house recently remodeled and updated. Five minutes away is Acadia National Park and only 15 miles across MDI from Bar Harbor, Me.
Before electricity, Central House Inn provided lodging for a number of years offering accommodations to early travelers. Terry Preble has spent the last year and half restoring, remodeling and upgrading facilities to create an elegant late victorian early craftsman home.

After a day exploring Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island our bed and breakfast offers you a quiet serene elegant place to relax. On the inns covered front porch with white wicker furniture you can put your feet up with a cup of tea while taking in a soothing sea breeze from Southwest Harbor across the street.

The inn is within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, art gallerys and on Mount Desert Islands free Island Explorer bus system route. Only 5 minutes from the inn you'll find yourself hiking, swimming or kayaking in Acadia National Park.

Central house is open year round and offers 3 suites with in room gas fireplaces, cable access to internet and hidden TV/DVD.

Each guest room has a private luxury bathroom with 3 heads in each shower. The south room has a whirlpool tub.

Breakfast is served from 8- 9am daily.

All rooms and public spaces are non-smoking.

Two night minimum required for reservations. Upon making your reservations, a deposit of one night's stay is required.

For longer stays, a 50% deposit is required.
