The fabulous Lagoona Beach Resort is located on 170 feet of sandy Houghton Lake beachfront in the downtown district of Prudenville, Michigan, the most civilized town in Up-North Michigan. Your accommodations are located 50 feet from Houghton Lake, the largest and most beautiful inland lake in Michigan. The resort is located on Houghton Lake's South shore of the East Bay. We have 8 units which include a duplex or beach house-cottage-cabin and 6 more regular motel rooms, 2 with kitchenettes. The beach house has 2 bedrooms, a bathtub, a full kitchen with stove and microwave, a large refrigerator and cable. We have moorings for as many boats as show up, currently, today, we have 8 moorings in the water and we can add as many as needed for our guests. Sorry, we do not take pets. There are 2 fine food restaurants, a pizza place, 4 fast food restaurants and 5 bars all within walking distance of our resort, located in the downtown district of Prudenville. Also located in the immediate area is a butcher shop, vegetable-fruit stand, grocery store, hardware store, surplus store and 2 auto repair shops. We provide free rowboat usage with each room regardless of length of stay. Walleye are caught 500 feet from shore directly in front of the resort by customers using our free rowboats. Roscommon County is reknown for Morel Mushrooming in early May. There are 64 square miles of State Forest 2 miles from the resort. There are 200 miles of Snowmobile/off road trails which have a trailhead less than 2 miles from the resort. If you are an ORV person, Prudenville is your ORVing HQ. There are 2 major ORV trails nearby. One trail, the Denton Trail, connects with another trail for 98 continuous miles of ORV trails through State Forest. Another trail called the West Higgins Lake ORV trail has its trailhead on the West side of Higgins Lake (about 20 minutes away).
