Our library has books on the local history of the area and all you need to know about the daily activities available.A 20-minute drive takes you to the famous Hot Water Beach where you can dig your own thermal pool (spades provided) two hours each side of low tide.Just another 5 minutes further, at Hahei, is the beginning of the 40-minute walk leading to Cathedral Cove, a beautiful secluded beach, only accessible by the walking track or by boat.There are many delightful bush walks in the surrounding area and the beautiful river gorge in Broken Hills Forest Park offers a network of well-marked walking tracks through attractive N.Z. native bush. The area provides opportunities for swimming, picnicking as well as canoeing, bird-watching and trout fishing.
