The most noteworthy being the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, the first proclaimed international biosphere in South Africa, only a half hour drive away, is in the heart of the Fynbos Kingdom with its 1600 fynbos species of which 150 are endemic! 20 minutes drive to Betty's Bay offers the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens which shows off the best of the fynbos kingdom, enjoyed on a relaxing stroll through the gardens or a hiking trail up the deep, forested valleys.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Arts & Crafts Southey's Vines in Somerset West hosts the popular Country Country Craft Market that runs throughout the summer months, is a great place for tourist to purchase some memorabilia and gifts for the folks back home. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Cycling There are road cycling and mountain biking routes in every direction from Gordon's Bay.
