There are 5 Villas & 2 Apartments situated in their own grounds with private pools.
There is also a 1 bedroom bed & breakfast or accommodation only apartment & a 2.5 bedroom restored casa situated 5 mins by car from the villas which are set in the countryside among the almond and olive groves with ever changing colours of wheat, anis & other crops. The views stretch for miles into the distance to El Chorro & El Torcal.
The casita/apartment which is 5 mins away has a spacious twin bedded room, lounge with views for at least 30 miles, shower room and small breakfast preparation area. There are 2 private terraces with loungers, tables & chairs taking advantage of the morning sun for breakfast & evening sun going down over “El Chorro” A bar-b-q can be provided.
The villas have a spacious fully fitted kitchen some with breakfast bar dividing it from the typically spanish style lounge /dining room fitted with a woodburner for winter. There are 2 bedrooms in “Villa Paloma” a double & twin. 3 double bedrooms in the other Villas. The bedrooms share a family light and airy wc/shower room.
The 3 bedroom villas also have external wc & shower room
A feature of all the villas is the inclusion of a “summer kitchen” an area designed around the bar-b-q & pool to facilitate outside food preparation etc complete with worktops, sinks, tables etc. There are also outside toilets and showers.
Please remember, this is rural Andalucia. Complete with donkeys, dogs & horses. Roads are not to the same standard as in the U.K. and access can be difficult outside of the summer months. If you are hiring a car outside the summer months, you may wish to consider a 4- Wheel Drive vehicle.
Included in the price is a welcome pack consisting of Wine, beer, coffee, milk etc we would only suggest you bring your own tea bags.
Maximum occupancy is shown in the your specific villa details. There is a small z bed but no sleeping accommodation in the lounge. Please, don’t try to exceed this. It’s uncomfortable and embarrassing for everyone.
Where are we?
The villas are situated just outside the pretty barrida”hamlet” of Pastelero & St Maria del Cerro which is about 5 kms from Villanueva de la Concepcion to the East & Almogia to the West.
Pastelero has 2 very good local bar/restaurants which serve local tapas and meals with open air bar-b-q’s at weekends.
Round and about
Our nearest town is Villanueva de la Concepcion, a typical Andalucian ‘pueblo’. There you will be able to buy most of your holiday needs. It has numerous small supermarkets, two banks, a pharmacy, and several bar/restaurants.
Villaneueva is overlooked by El Torcal, a massive limestone outcrop. Take a drive to the top and look out South across the valley and hills to the Mediterranean, East to the snow capped Sierra Nevada and West towards Ronda. Follow the marked walk where not only will you be captivated by the strange and beautiful rock formations but you may also see eagles, buzzards and vultures. If you are lucky you might even catch sight of the Ibex that make their home up there.
A few kilomtres further on, the other side of El Torcal, lies Antequera. When the Romans discovered it, it was already 1000 years old. Stop for a drink on the terrace of the Mirador bar on the road into the city. Spread below you are the white painted, red roofed houses, interspersed with the towers of Antequera’s many churches. In the distance a huge rock emerges from the plain – La Pena de los Enamorados – from which, according to legend, two lovers, one Christian, one Moorish leaped to their deaths in a tragic suicide pact. This historic city is well worth exploring.
For those who enjoy a round of golf, the nearest course is in Antequera. In addition, the coast, which has an abundance of courses, is easily accessible.
