In its third century on Galveston Island, an historic seaport of the 1800’s. This charming 1887 Queen Anne Victorian with gingerbread trim, double verandah, and turret tower, surrounds every guest with warmth and friendliness. Spectacular winding staircase of teak, walnut, and curly pine, highlighted by stained glass windows and cobalt blue transoms. Heirloom antiques and accessories are displayed throughout the house in a warm and inviting atmosphere. With five bedrooms, three in the main house and two outbuildings, all with private baths. A full and hardy country breakfast is served family style in the antique dining room. The home, by Alfred Muller a renowned architect from Germany, was designed for Howard Carnes the cashier of the Morgan’s Louisiana and Texas Railroad and Steamship Company. The second owner, Paul Shean was a coppersmith from Ireland, hence the name Coppersmith Inn Bed & Breakfast.
