The Lonesome Dove River Inn has been completely remodeled. It is the only lodging in Wimberley to completely conform to ADA-requirements. There are 2 suites with king size beds and fireplaces, 2 with queen size beds. All of the suites have claw-foot tubs with jacuzzis and may be locked off from the rest of the lodging for privacy. They each offer cable television, telephone, and trundle beds for 2 additional guests per room.

There are 3 additional sleepers hiding as window seats in the living room. The meeting room offers the warmth of a fireplace. A fantastic panoramic view of the hillside and the Blanco River is breathtaking from the comfort of the over-stuffed couches in the living room.

The Cliffside Cottage is a stand-alone cabin, fenced and gated, featuring one queen size bedroom as well as a separate sleeping nook with a double futon. Enjoy a bite fixed in a full kitchen. The living/dining room offers cable television. From the huge front porch, you may gaze up at the clear Texas sky, peek at the Blanco River below, enjoy the large fenced and gated garden, or wait for the deer to appear.

The newly constructed gazebo offers a built-in barbeque, seating for many, and another great view of the Blanco River.

Wimberley is blessed with a location on the banks of Cypress Creek and the Blanco River surrounded by the Texas Hill Country. As a result, there are great outdoor activities nearby. Shopping - Wimberley is full of unique shops that offer traditional and not-so-traditional art and wares. Although the primary shopping areas are clustered around the Wimberley Square and Olde Towne Plaza, there are also shops sprinkled throughout nearby locations. The first Saturday of each month, April through December, Market Days draw visitors from around the state. Outdoor Theatre - Many rural towns had outdoor movie theatres years ago. Wimberley still has one! The Corral Theatre features first run movies every Friday and Saturday night from Memorial Day through Labor Day. You can even bring your own chair. Call 847-2513 for shows and times. If your taste runs to live action, try the EmilyAnn Theatre for year round events. Site-Seeing - For those who just like to walk and see the sites, Wimberley is full of beautiful views and rich history. A pause at the bridge over Cypress Creek or, for the more vigorous, a walk up the steps to the top of Old Baldy (see map) are certainly worth the trip. Additional Activities - Take a step back in time to an 1880's Pioneer Town at the 7A Ranch Resort with plenty of activities for the whole family! Wimberley also offers many unique art galleries, including Wimberley Glass Works, with entertaining glass blowing demonstrations seven days a week.
