Fair Light is a haven of rest in the Shenandoah Valley approximately twenty miles from either Staunton to the North or Lexington to the South and within two miles of I-81 and I-64. This is a restored pre-civil war log cabin with a new addition that provides a rustic and timeless ambience as well as the modern conveniences of today.
The log cabin features central air conditioning and heating. The living room has a stone fireplace and a television with a DVD/VCR/CD player and an assortment of DVDs, CDs and VHS tapes (no commercial TV channels available). The dining room features a country table and a parlor stove. The eat-in kitchen contains all new and modern conveniences including a microwave oven and a dishwasher. There is a queen size bed in one bedroom, a full size bed in a second bedroom, and a queen sleep sofa in the living room. There is a full and a half bath. We provide all bed and bath linens, toilet tissue, facial tissue, paper towels, trash bags, dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans, and other cooking and dining accessories. There is a toaster and coffee maker and we supply salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, coffee filters, coffee creamer, and tea bags. There are also firelogs for the fireplace.
Nearby are several unique attractions including the Cyrus McCormick Farm, Wade's Mill, the Rockbridge Vineyard, the Mountain View Equine Center, Buffalo Springs Herb Farm, Orchard Side orchard and yarn shop, and JL Farms' purebred Limousin and Angus Beef operation. In Staunton there are many major attractions including the Shakesperean Blackfriars Playhouse, the Frontier Culture Museum, Mary Baldwin College, and the Statler Museum. In the Lexington area you will find the premier Virginia Horse Center; the Virginia Military Institute, including the VMI and George C. Marshall Museums; Washington and Lee University with its Lee Chapel and Museum, the burial place of Robert E. Lee and his family; and the Southern Virginia College in nearby Buena Vista. It is also easy to access the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive, the Valley Civil War battlefields, the Natural Bridge, and major limestone caverns.
