Silas Griffith Inn |

Featured Bed and Breakfast in Danby, Vermont
In 1891, Silas Griffith built this estate as a wedding gift for his new bride, Katherine. Silas was Vermont's first millionaire and 'Lumber King.' His selection of a site was outstanding; the buildings are nestled on 11 acres of rolling meadows offering a 360-degree view of the Taconic and Green Mountains. Details such as hand-carved cherry woodwork, birch floors, embossed tin ceilings, stained glass windows, and original beams offer a taste of the Victorian era of living...the charm and character of history enhanced by the conveniences of today.
The Silas Griffith Inn brings the intimacy and romance of a bed and breakfast, the amenities of a country Inn, and the service and facilities of modern society together, making your stay here a wonderful and memorable experience. Guest rooms and suites are spread between the Manor House and the Carriage House. The large living room, media room, and music room are common areas open to all and located in the Manor House. We are accepting reservations now, beginning with May 1, 2006. Don't wait and miss out on your chosen vacation... contact us today!
