We are a quiet and pastoral country inn at the top of a bluff overlooking Ship Bay, in Eastsound, on Orcas Island. Inn at Ship Bay is centered around the historic Adam's Orchard House, built in 1869 by Michael Adams, one of the early pioneers of Orcas Island's storied past. We offer clean, comfortable waterfront accommodations and excellent and unpretentious dining in an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality, located only minutes from Eastsound and Moran State Park. Private Beach access. We offer true comfort, accessability and modern convenience, which can be difficult to find on Orcas Island.
Whether you plan to enjoy the beauty of Moran State Park, go whale watching, take a bi-plane ride, kayak, golf, or simply stare in awe at the bald eagles flying outside your stateroom window, Inn at Ship Bay provides a tranquil and incredibly scenic home base for your adventures in the San Juan Islands. Originally homesteaded in the 1860's by Michael Adams, the orchard house stands at the heart of Inn at Ship Bay. Once a cornerstone of the local island economy, the acres of apple, pear, and plum orchards that surround the inn still produce a seasonal abundance of heirloom fruit. Our grounds also are graced by the presence of many deer, bald eagles, and other wildlife. We are proud to be stewards of this historic property and are firmly committed to maintaining this very special environment.
